Summary
Against the odds, our sort-of heroes Baulder and Hod survived their encounter with the Aggression Feeder at the Paulsdown barracks. Their reward? Another day to live. The sheriff of Shar seems hell-bent on sending the pair on suicide missions. And if they want to avoid summary execution, they must travel to the West Drift farms and extract the sheriff’s protection payment from these farmers. But why would the farms stop paying in the first place? What could make them risk the wrath of the Sheriff by holding back on payment?
